WEST HARTFORD, CONN.(WTIC Radio)-Two Meriden men face charges, after police located a vehicle suspected of a large number of car burglaries throughout the greater Hartford region.
West Hartford Police located the vehicle Monday wanted in connection with many of these burglaries where the vehicles were physically damaged to
allow access to passenger departments.
Two men were detained on scene and it was determined the 2019 white Toyota Rav4 was stolen out of New Britain. Police also recovered four stolen
license plates and four additional active/cancelled license plates.
West Hartford Police charged Victor Mercado, 24, with larceny, misuse of plates, operating a motor vehicle without a license, possession of burglar's tools and theft of plates. Mercado is also wanted by Wethersfield, Seymour and Meriden Police.
Samuel Mercado, 26, faces similar charges. He's in the custody of Farmington Police, based on an outstanding arrest warrant.
