Pedestrian killed in Hartford hit and run

Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Hartford are still looking for the suspect in connection with an early morning fatal hit and run on Saturday.

It was just before 4:00 a.m. when officers were called to the scene at Ledyard Street and Wawarme Avenue.


They found the pedestrian, Keyshia Ortiz-Benitez, 31, lying in the road with life threatening injuries.

She was rushed to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.

Investigators say the vehicle fled southbound after striking Ortiz-Benitez.

They say at this point, the make and model of the suspect vehicle is unknown.
