GLASTONBURY, CONN (WTIC Radio)- 35 firefighters fought a fatal blaze in Glastonbury early this morning.
The fire was reported around 2:20 by a police officer during routine patrol.
Fire Chief Michael Thurz said firefighters performed an interior search but had to abandon it because of the heavy fire volume and high heat.
They found an unaccounted for person inside the structure who succumbed to injuries.
No one else was injured. The fire is being investigated by the Glastonbury Fire Marshal's office and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosive Investigation Unit.
Bolton and Colchester Fire Departments assisted Glastonbury with station coverage.
