West Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - West Hartford fire officials say one person was injured when they jumped from a second-floor window to escape a house fire on Wednesday.
Just before 4:30 p.m., firefighters were called to the home on Elmhurst Street.
On arrival, they reported smoke showing from the second floor and located the injured party outside.
The victim told firefighters there was no one else in the home before they were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters had the fire knocked down quickly.
Officials say the home sustained significant smoke and fire damage is likely uninhabitable.
The fire marshal's office is leading the investigation.
