WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Waterbury police release enhanced photos of the suspect vehicle in a fatal hit-and-run accident.

Police say James Gatlin, 67, of Waterbury, was pushing a shopping cart near Pep Boys Auto Parts around 8:14 p.m., last Thursday, on Wolcott Street. A car struck him and continued to drive off while he remained on the hood. Gatlin eventually fell off the hood as the car continued on Pritchard Road towards Stillson Road.


At 8:25 p.m., an ambulance transported Gatlin to Saint Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined cause of death an accident as blunt force trauma of the head, torso, and lower extremities.
