Plainfield, Conn./WTIC Radio - A Plainfield man is facing charges after police there say he attempted to communicate with who he thought was an 11-year-old girl.
The investigation in Clayton Maheu began last December.
Officers say they were tipped of to the 49-year-old from Wauregan from the group Predator Poachers.
That's a Texas-based organization that conducts online investigations into those attempting to lure minors for sexual purposes.
Police obatained warrants that netted them several electronic devices from Maheu's residence.
Investigators say they found a trove of images and videos of children depicting child sex abuse.
Maheu is facing charges of possession of child pornography and attempting to entice a minor.
He's due to be arraigned in Danielson Superior Court on Friday.
