NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ A Plymouth mother accused of shooting two of her children, killing one, has appeared before a judge for the first time during arraignment Monday.
Naomi Bell, 43, remained silent while her attorney painted a picture of mental health struggles via video conference at Superior Court in New Britain.
Her 15-year-old daughter died. Her 7-year-old son was critical injured and remains hospitalized. Another child was not home at the time of the shooting.
In an arrest warrant released Monday, the father of the victims said he went home with the third child forgot a mask and wattle bottle for a basketball game. The father said when he called home, the 15-year-old daughter answered and was screaming but would not describe the situation further over the phone. The father then called 911.
Bell remains held on a $2.5 million bond with another court date in January.
