Police: Man found snoozing in stolen car in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - A New Haven man is in trouble after he was found asleep in a stolen car parked along the shoulder of Interstate 91 in New Haven Friday, said state police.

Edwin Leon-Guerrero, 37, was found in a vehicle on the southbound side of the highway near Exit 6 around 2 p.m., said police.

The vehicle showed signs of theft, including a damaged ignition, said police. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of New Haven on Nov. 21 and was not registered, said authorities.

Leon-Guerrero was not able to produce a license and was found in possession of a glass crack pipe, said police. He is due in court Monday on charges including use of a motor vehicle without permission and use of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $25,000.
