New London, Conn./WTIC Radio - Two people are in the hospital after they were pulled from the water early Sunday morning near a pier in New London.
Police say around 1:40 a.m., officers on patrol were alerted that the two, a man and a woman, may be drowning.
Both were pulled from the water by police officers.
Neither was conscious or alert when New London Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene to transport them to an area hospital.
There's no word on their conditions.
New London Police Chief Brian Wright said “I commend the quick response and decisive actions of our officers, as well as the New London Fire Department, in providing immediate assistance during a critical and life-threatening situation.”
The incident remains under investigation.
