HARTFORD, CONN (WTIC Radio)-Two men faces charges after police seized a weapon, drugs and cash from a city business on Park Street.

Hartford police said the seizure is part of an ongoing effort to stem the sale of drugs in the city. The Hartford Narcotics Unit received
assistance from the State Police Task Force, regarding an unnamed smoke shop.


Under arrest is Quentin Elky, 34, of Hartford and Jaylenn Baez, 28, of Manchester.

Police recovered a 9 mm weapon, stolen out of Vermont, containing 12 rounds. In addition police retrieved more than $6 thousand in cash, 6 Oxycodone pills and 2 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale.

Elky faces firearms charges, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

Baez faces possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to sell.
