Newington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Newington police are investigating after they say someone stole a person's vehicle at gunpoint early Saturday morning.

The stickup occurred just after 4:00 a.m. as the victim was warming up the vehicle on Saddle Hill Road, police said.

That person was not injured.

Police in neighboring towns say that vehicle, a white Toyota Rav 4, may have been used in string of robberies and attempted burglaries at gas station/convenience stores.

The vehicle was found ditched earlier Monday in Hartford.

Anyone with security footage or who may have any information is asked to contact Newington Police at 860-666-8445.
