While Lyme, Connecticut, may be known for being the namesake of
Lyme disease, East Lyme now now made medical news with a case of rabies
confirmed in the town's Niantic section.
The disease was found in a raccoon trapped on Joyce Court - just around the corner from the Niantic Children's Museum.
The Health district that includes the Lymes and several other communities now urging pet-owners to keep their cats indoors and
their dogs on a short leash.
