SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police arrests a Rhode Island man who allegedly drove in a construction zone on I-84 Westbound in Southington.
Police say Andrew Bravo, 25, of Providence, was allegedly driving in a construction zone near exit 30 on I-84 Westbound at midnight on Sunday morning.
Bravo, according to troopers, was driving a Honda Pilot in lanes that had been closed, navigating around construction trucks and a trooper's cruiser.
When stopped, troopers suspected Bravo of being intoxicated. He agreed to field sobriety tests after saying he had consumed alcoholic drinks before driving and subsequently failed the tests.
Police are charging Bravo with operating under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs while in a construction zone, reckless driving in a construction zone, failure to obey the signal of an officer, and four counts of second-degree reckless endangerment.
Bravo is out on a $500.00 bond and is due in New Britain Superior Court on July 12, 2024.
