East Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The East Hartford Animal Control office is attempting to locate the owner of a dog found dead in a garbage can near a vacant supermarket building.
Authorities say the find was made at the old Stop and Shop located at 940 Silver Lane.
Those with animal control say the male Golden Retriever was found deceased in the recepticle with a garbage bag over it.
Desmond's Army Animal Law Advocates is assisting in trying to get a necropsy done to determine how the canine died.
