EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - East Hartford Animal Control is investigating the second discovery of a dead dog in the last week.
Officers responded to reports Sunday morning that a dog was found dead in a garbage bag in the wooded area near 53 and 55 Forbes and Cottage Streets.
The dog is described as a young Pitbull type, approximately 4 to 10 weeks of age.
It has an apparent gunshot to its side.
The dog is further described as appearing brown in color, possibly with grey coloring in some areas, but officers say it's hard to tell because the dog's carcass is in the beginning stages of decomposing.
Last Tuesday, a dead Golden Retriever was found in a garbage can near the old Stop & Shop on Silver Lane.
