Groton, Conn./WTIC Radio - Groton town police now say the father accused of robbing a bank with his son last week has now died.
Shaun Fallon, 56, died Monday.
His son Zachary, 27, died the day the two robbed the Chelsea Groton Bank in Gold Star Highway last Thursday.
The two made off with money, say police, after which they were discovered hiding out in a Super 8 motel on Route 12.
The suspects kept police at bay for hours, saying they had guns and explosives, leading to the evacuation of the motel.
It was later that night that a police drone confirmed the two were incapacitated in their room and no explosive device was found.
Zachary Fallon died early Friday morning.
An official cause of death of the two suspects has not been given, but police did report gunshots from the motel room during the standoff.
