Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The Rev. Al Sharpton is expected to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of a man shot and killed last month by Hartford police.
Steven "Stevie" Jones was shot on Blue Hills Avenue February 27 after police say he refused repeated commands to drop a knife he was holding.
Jones' family says he was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time. His sister, Audrey, had called 9-1-1 for an ambulance.
Videotape released by the state Inspector General shows Hartford Police Officer Joseph Magnano firing 9 shots at Jones. Magnano is on administrative leave.
The Connecticut NAACP says Sharpton will deliver the eulogy at the funeral for Jones this Thursday.
It is scheduled for noon at The First Cathedral, 1151 Blue Hills Avenue in Bloomfield.
