Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Hartford are investigating a Thursday afternoon shooting that has left one person dead.
Officers were dispatched to the Kent Street area to check out a ShotSpotter activation just after 2:30 p.m.
It was while they were there that they were made aware of a crash at the intersection of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street.
The victim, identified as Carl Patterson, Jr., 28, of Hartford, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Patterson was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
It was determined that Patterson was shot on Baltimore Street and was traveling from that scene prior to the crash.
