Stamford, Conn./WTIC Radio - Stamford police say a pedestrian was struck by a marked patrol vehicle that was en route to call Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred on Wire Mill Road.
Police say the pedestrian was rushed to Stamford Hospital where the victim was later pronounced dead.
State Police are handling the investigation.
In a statement, Chief of Police Timothy Shaw offered thoughts and prayers to the victim's family on behalf of the department.
