New Britain, Conn./WTIC Radio - There's word that Stanley Black and Decker is closing its New Britain facility.
A spokeswoman for the company says the decline for a need for single-sided tape measures led to the move.
She says the plant predominantly manufactured those tape measures, adding that it will support the employees impacted during the transition.
About 300 employees are being impacted.
