Tolland, Conn./WTIC Radio - State police and agents of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spent midday Thursday investigating at a Tolland strip club, Electric Blue on Merrow Rd.
Law enforcement officials did not provide specifics, but Tolland Town Manager Brian Foley told reporters, "For several years... we have reason to believe that prostitution and sexual activity have occurred on the premises."
The town has suspended Electric Blue's business license for thirty days.
Kate Pote, a spokesperson for Homeland Security Investigations/New England Field office, issued this statement: "Homeland Security Investigations and law enforcement partners are participating in a joint investigation at a business in Tolland, Connecticut this morning. As this is an ongoing investigation, we’re not able to comment further at this time."
State police would only say they are assisting DHS in the probe.
In a Twitter post issued at midday, Foley wrote, "the area is completely safe and the surrounding businesses are open.”
