Torrington, Conn./WTIC Radio - Torrington police say an accidental blasting incident is impacting a stretch of roadway in the city.
Officers say there were no injuries at the scene on Winsted Road and that crews had adhered to all safety precautions prior to the incident.
Photos on the department's Facebook account show rocks and trees strewn on the road.
As a result of the blast at Winsted Road and Dennison Drive, Winsted Road is closed at Kennedy Drive and Greenwoods until crews can finish the clean up.
Fire officials and the state fire marshal are on scene assessing the damage.
Detours have been set up in the area for the time being during the debris removal.
