WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Waterbury police say a man already accused of sexually assaulting a minor is facing new charges in connection with an alleged sexual assault.
Police say a girl female victim reported Michael Dewitt, 45, of Seymour, allegedly lured her into a vehicle that he was driving when he proceeded to sexually assault her.
She wasn't injured during the incident.
Dewitt is charged with first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, and commercial sexual abuse of a minor.
Dewitt was arrested on October 15, 2024, in connection with another, separate sexual assault investigation involving a minor that happened on October 9, 2024, when a previous female victim reported being lured similarly into a pickup truck that Dewitt owned.
Dewitt is currently being held in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections on a $550,000 bond. This new warrant has a court ordered bond in the amount of $750,000.
