Teen killed in overnight crash in Waterbury

Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - A 14-year-old girl was killed in an overnight crash in what Waterbury police say involved a stolen vehicle.

Just before 2:30 a.m., officers arrived at the scene at East Main and Baldwin Streets for a crash involving a Ford Escape and a Hyundai Sonata that was reported stolen earlier in Waterbury.


Investigators say the 14-year-old was thrown from the Hyundai and pronounced dead at an area hospital.

There were two 15-year-old male occupants, one in critical but stable condition with life-threatening injuries, in addition to another 15-year-old, a female.

The driver of the Ford, a 38-year-old man, sustained non life-threatening injuries, police said.

An 18-year-old passenger is in critical but stable condition.

Names of those involved have not yet been released.
