Portland, Conn.(WTIC Radio)-State Police have arrested 25 individuals from Connecticut and Massachusetts on drug charges after they executed a search warrant at the Ruthless 4 Life Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Clubhouse on Airline Avenue, Wednesday night at 7:40.
The investigation began several months ago after open drug and alcohol use became a significant quality of life issue, especially concerning the use of an adjoining Little League Field.
In the process, police seized $51, 470 in U.S. currency, 118 pounds of marijuana, eight and a half pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, several thousand grams of THC based products, several thousand hallucinogenic based products and two illegally possessed firearms.
State Police said the illicit activity caused games to be cancelled. State Police said the investigation revealed the Portland charter clubhouse was used for the sale of controlled substances. Further, numerous dealers would rent space in the clubhouse to sell large quantities of controlled substances. Police said when the warrant was being executed, approximately 90 people were present and all parties were detained without incident.
Most of the individuals were processed and released at the scene. They are all expected to appear in Middletown Superior Court at a later date.
