Waterbury, Conn. (WTIC Radio)-Two people died in an early morning fire, according to the Fire Department.
29 firefighters and two Chiefs responded to the three-story structure on Arch Street around three this morning, said Deputy Fire Chief Ken Tambora.
The two victims are described as adults. Everyone else made it out safely.
"Fire extended up to the third and the attic. They did have to retreat out for a while to use mass extremes in order to darken it down. And they were able to get back in again and get the fire under control. It did take a while to get the fire knocked down. There was a lot of fire on their arrival."
The cause is unknown.
