TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ Torrington police arrested a city man Thursday who allegedly beat two women with a baseball bat.
Police responded to a home that reported the attack on Mountain Road.
Two women were found, seriously injured from a baseball bat beating. They told officers the suspect, Richard Dillon, fled the scene in a Chevy Malibu.
Police found the Malibu and tried to stop it. Dillon led officers in a brief car and foot pursuit but was ultimately taken into custody with no further incident.
Both women were hospitalized at Charlotte Hungerford hospital with serious injuries to their heads and necks. One woman's back and hands were also injured. Police say the two are recovering.
Dillon was charged with assault, assault on an elderly victim, disorderly conduct, interfering and resisting, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and engaging police in a pursuit.
Dillon is due in court on Friday. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
