Torrington, Conn./WTIC Radio - A crash this morning involving a tractor trailer in Torrington has now been determined as a fatal.
The driver of the truck, who was found dead, has been identified as Mahamadou Keita, 44, of Darby, Pennsylvania.
Police say the rig from out-of-state was traveling north on Hayden Road.
For some reason, investigators say the truck hit several mail boxes as it approached the Greenwoods Road intersection, after which it struck a stop sign.
The truck then went down an embankment dropping to the side of Route 8. The trailer section fell on top of the cab, where Keita was found dead.
He leaves behind a wife and four children.
Police are trying to determine if a medical condition or vehicle malfunction played a part in the crash. It's believed speed and breaking are factors.
