Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The Travelers Championship has added the world's top-ranked golfer to this year's field.

Jon Rahm, who won the Masters in April, has committed to play the Travelers next month.

The 28-year-old from Spain joins top players Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and last year's champion Xander Schauffele among those who have committed.

“We’ll have an impressive player field for fans to watch and root for, and I know a number of them will be pulling hard for Jon,” Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube said. “We want the best in the world coming to Connecticut, and Jon has established himself at No. 1 by having an incredible year so far.”

Travelers Championship week at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell runs from June 19-25.
