(WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police say one of their troopers is injured after a crash involving a kidnapping suspect who crossed from Rhode Island into Stonington.
Troop E in Montville received word from Rhode Island State Police requesting assistance from CT State Police in pursuing an alleged kidnapping suspect.
The trooper's cruiser, with its emergency lights and siren activated, became involved in a motor vehicle collision with the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Route 27 and Coogan Boulevard in Stonington.
Stonington Police responded to the scene and are conducting the corresponding motor vehicle accident investigation.
The suspect vehicle eluded Connecticut Troopers and was reported to have crossed over the state line, back into Rhode Island.
Rhode Island State Police haven't commented any further kidnapping investigation.
