Two separate crashes injure two separate state troopers

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Connecticut State Police are investigating two separate crashes that injured two State Troopers.

The first accident happened around 4:30 a.m. on the southbound side of the Wilbur Cross Parkway - Route 15 in Hamden, between exits 61 and 60. The trooper was injured in what the CT Department of Transportation reported as a two-vehicle crash. The trooper was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Emergency personnel responded to another crash around 7:30 a.m. on the southbound side of Route 9 in Cromwell, between Exits 22S (off I-91) and 19.

While first responders were dealing with the initial crash, another vehicle struck a trooper and firefighter around 7:45 a.m. Both were injured and transported to an area hospital.

Route 9 Southbound was closed at the I-91 North off-ramp.
