UConn football coach Jim Mora to leave for Colorado

STORRS, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - The University of Connecticut confirms Football Coach Jim Mora has accepted the head coaching job at Colorado State.

David Benedict, UConn's Director of Athletics, says UConn appreciates "...Coach Mora's contributions to our many achievements on the gridiron, including 27 wins and bowl game eligibility in three of the last four years, along with back-to-back nine win seasons for the first time ever."


Mora became the Huskies head coach in 2022.

The UConn Huskies ended the regular season 9-3, undefeated at home.

Benedict is naming offensive coordinator Gordon Sammis as the interim head coach. The national search for the next head coach of the Huskies will begin immediately.
