West Hartford, Conn./WTIC Radio - The University of Hartford has named an interim president.
Current Barney School of Business dean Stephen Mulready has been chosen by the university's Board of Regents for the position.
He will succeed current president Gregory Woodward when Woodward retires at the end of his present contract in June.
Mulready was appointed interim dean of the Barney School in 2020 and was officially named dean in April of 2021.
During his tenure, Woodward has been lauded for launching over a dozen graduate and undergrad programs in nursing, digital media and other fields.
He did come under criticism for the transition down from Division I to Division III athletics.
In addition, UHart regents have chosen Donald Allan, president and CEO of Stanley Black and Decker, as board chair, and Katherine Black as provost.
