Wallingford man charged with making threats while armed

Wallingford, Conn./WTIC Radio - A man Wallingford police say was armed during a report of suspicious activity and threatening is under arrest.

On Monday, officers were dispatched to 30 Clinton Place in town on a report of a person with a firearm.

When they arrived, officers found David Brown, 64, seated on his front stoop.

Police say they ordered Brown to drop the weapon, which they say he did.

It was later determined the that the gun was not loaded.

Brown also revealed two small knives, police said.

The person who filed the complaint said Brown gestured toward them as he racked the shotgun.

Brown is now charged with breach of peace and threatening and is being held on bond.

Detectives say there'd been past issues between Brown and the complainant.
