Waterbury police make hit and run arrest

Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Waterbury have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run crash from earlier this year that left two people with serious injuries.

A little after 8:00 p.m. on October 10th, police located two female pedestrians on Walnut Street, aged 21 and 22.

Now, police are charging Melany Camanero, 19.

She turned herself in on Thursday to face a host of charges, including criminal attempt to commit murder, assault, and evading responsibility.

The 21-year-old victim has since been released from the hospital.

The 22-year-old remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Police initally said her injuries were life threatening.

Camanero is being held on $1 million bond
