Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - Police in Waterbury say the suspect in a homicide in June has been arrested in Virginia.

Detectives say they hold a warrant on Christopher Eason, 36, of Virginia in connection with the shooting death of Akeem Campbell, 26.

Eason was arrested Tuesday.

It was early in the morning on June 4 that officers responded to a report of shots fired at North Main and Division Streets.

When they reached the scene, they found an unoccupied vehicle along with evidence of gunfire.

Campbell had already been transported to St. Mary's Hospital at that point, police said, and he later died.

As for Eason, he faces a host of charges, including murder, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and other offenses.  He is awaiting extradition back to Connecticut.

The warrant has a court set bond of $10 million, according to police.
