The Waterbury woman accused if holding her stepson captive for decades is rejecting two plea offers.
Kimberly Sullivan appeared in Waterbury Superior Court on Friday morning, where a judge reviewed two offers she ultimately formally rejected.
She would have received a 30-year sentence, suspended after 20 years, followed by five years of probation under the state's offer.
The judge made a counter offer of a 30-year sentence, suspended after 10 years, with five years of probation.
She would have been charged with kidnapping in the first degree, assault in the first degree, unlawful restraint in the first degree, and cruelty to persons.
An October 20 hearing has been set to address motions ahead of trial.
A trial date has not been set but could happen as soon as early next year.
