WATERBURY, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - It's the second day in a row that a weapon was reported at a school in Waterbury.
The report Friday morning, according to Waterbury Public School officials, followed a student at Kennedy High School letting a Wilby High School student inside the Kennedy building.
It was then reported to the administration at the Kennedy High School that the Wilby student was in possession of a weapon.
Kennedy High School was placed into lockdown mode. Nearby West Side Middle School was put into shelter-in-place.
No weapon was found following a search.
Waterbury Public School officials remind that weapons of any kind are not permitted inside any of the Waterbury Public Schools.
They add that granting unauthorized access to a school building is treated as a serious offense with disciplinary consequences.
