WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTIC Radio)_ West Hartford Police announce the loss of Sergeant Christopher Tyler to cancer.
The department says Sergeant Tyler died on Monday, May 24, 2021.
He was hired on August 15, 2010 and served as an officer until he was promoted to Sergeant in December of 2017.
Sergeant Tyler received 14 department, merit, and unit citations for his work on the force. West Hartford Police also have countless letters from citizens thanking him for his "good deeds," according to the department's post on social media.
West Hartford Police send their thoughts to Sergeant Tyler's family, saying he "...will be deeply missed."
