Drivers are being asked to avoid a stretch of roadway in West Hartford.
Monday morning, the town reported "a significant roadway failure" in the 90 and 100 blocks of Prospect Avenue, near I-84 and the Hartford city line.
West Hartford officials haven't elaborated on what led up to the failure other than saying it is under investigation.
Only one southbound lane is open, and people should expect delays in that direction.
All northbound lanes are closed.
Traffic is being detoured through Merrill Street in Hartford.
