WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTIC Radio) - Willimantic fire officials say a man is dead after a tree fell on him Wednesday night during a line of severe thunderstorms that ripped across Connecticut.
Firefighters responded around 10:40 p.m. to the 120 block of Union Street on the report of a downed tree in the storm that fell on a man.
It took about 10 to 15 minutes for the firefighters to stabilize and cut up enough of the tree to get to the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
