Windham, Conn./WTIC Radio - A Windham woman is facing charges she starved a dog to death over a period of months, leaving the canine in a crate on the side of the road.
Under arrest is Mariah Reeves, 28.
According to an arrest warrant the dog named Girl was found on Route 32 last month.
Tests showed the husky mix had been dead up to two weeks and died a slow death.
Girl's microchip led police to the first owner, who said the dog had been rehomed with a friend after she'd given birth to puppies.
Witnesses, though, say Reeves was neglectful of Girl.
Reeves faces animal cruelty and other charges.
