Bridgeport, Conn./WTIC Radio - The grandmother of an infant female who died two years ago while in the woman's care has now been charged in the little one's death.
Police say Eleanor Herman, 61, faces charges of manslaughter and risk of injury.
It was February 21, 2021 that the four-week-old infant was brought to the hospital by her uncle.
The medical examiner later ruled the child died from acute intoxication from the combined effects of fentanyl and another drug.
Police say Herman, who lived with the infant, had a history of drug abuse.
A warrant was signed last week and Herman was arrested Tuesday.
Her bond was set at $250,000.
