Waterbury, Conn./WTIC Radio - A mother in Waterbury was found dead after police discovered a three-year-old child wandering the streets Friday morning.
Police were dispatched to the area of Poplar Street just before 11:00 a.m. on a report that the little girl was alone.
Officers say the toddler did not appear to have been neglected or abused.
It was during a follow-up investigation at a home on Alder Street that the found the mother inside.
The 34-year-old was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives say she may have been deceased for some time.
There were no obvious signs of foul play, say police.
The case remains under investigation.
