Man on bike killed in motor vehicle collision in Stamford

(Stamford, Conn./WTIC) - In Stamford, police say one person is dead following a late Friday night crash involving a motor vehicle and a bicyclist.

Officers say a little before 10:30, the bicyclist was struck by the driver of a Cadillac northbound on Harvard Avenue.


The 19-year-old man was thrown from the bicycle and into the roadway.

He was then hit by a second vehicle.

Both motorists initially stopped.

One left the scene before police arrived but was later located and interviewed.

The victim was rushed to Stamford hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The person's name hasn't been released.

No charges have been filed at this time but the investigation is continuing.
