(Manchester, Conn./WTIC) - Manchester police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a child last year.
Officers are charging the boy's mother, 30-year-old Alesha Cain.
Police say they were called to an apartment on Oakland Street November 26 on a report of an unresponsive child.
Responders attempted to resuscitate the child, who was then rushed to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford and was pronounced dead.
Cain was taken into custody on Friday after a months long investigation.
She is charged with manslaughter, assault, risk of injury and cruelty to persons.
Bond was set at $650,000.
Cain is due in court Monday.
