The Ohio Supreme Court has moved to suspend a criminal defense attorney after it was discovered he pooped into a Pringles can and tossed it into a parking lot for a crime-victim advocacy center.
The court decided that Jack A. Blakeslee’s conduct called into question his ability to practice law.
When defending his actions, Blakeslee said he didn’t target anyone but had a habit of defecating into Pringles cans and randomly throwing them out of his car.
Calling what he did a “prank,” Blakeslee claimed to have done it at least 10 times in 2021, the year of the alleged incident.
The court didn’t believe Blakeslee’s claim, arguing that he purposely chose Haven of Hope in Cambridge, Ohio, in November 2021, which surveillance cameras caught on video.
According to the court, Blakeslee had known the victim advocates at the center for years, and on the day of the incident, he was scheduled to see them in court 15 minutes after he carried out his prank, as he was defending a client charged with capital murder.
Inevitably, the court decided this week to suspend Blakeslee, who has been an attorney since 1976, from the practice of law for one year with six months of that suspension stayed.
