A delivery driver who went viral after cursing out a customer has been terminated from his employment, according to reports.
The former DoorDash employee, whose identity has not been revealed, became both famous and infamous all at once when TikTok user Lacey Purciful posted video of a verbal exchange on social media.
In the video, the man can be seen handing over a pizza to Purciful and saying, “I just want to say it’s a nice house for a $5 tip.” The order totaled $20, meaning Purciful tipped 25%.
Purciful responds by yelling, “You’re welcome!” The driver retorts, “F**k you.”
In the aftermath of the video’s explosion on social media, the driver was fired, according to both Purciful and a report by Insider.
“Respectfully asking for a tip is acceptable but abusing or harassing someone is never acceptable,” a DoorDash representative said in a statement to Insider. “Our rules exist to help ensure everyone who uses our platform - Dashers, customers, merchants - have a safe and enjoyable experience.”
