If you purchased a box of pancake and waffle mix from Walmart recently, go double check the box.

Continental Mills announced on Saturday through a statement on the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website that they have issued a recall on Great Value Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix because of a potential foreign material contamination.

The specific mix being recalled is UPC 078742370828, lot code KX2063, with a best by date of 09/01/2023.

"Fragments from a cable used to clear the processing line were discovered in a limited amount of product," the statement said.

"The affected product was distributed nationwide where consumers purchased product through retail Walmart stores."

There have not been any contaminated products or injuries because of the mix reported by buyers yet, the statement added.

It's recommended that if you did purchase the recalled box of pancake and waffle mix, then throw it out or return it to the store for a refund.

Continental Mills had previously announced the recall of Kroger Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix on Friday for the same reasons as Great Value. That mix comes in a two pound box, UPC 01111088219, with lot codes KX2063 and KX2064, and best by dates of 09/01/2023 and 09/02/2023.
