ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A man in his 20s is dead after being shot while his young son was handling a rifle, according to police in St. Louis.
Police say the 2-year-old accidentally shot his father on Saturday night around 8:45 p.m. It happened in the Clinton-Peabody public housing complex, just south of downtown St. Louis.
Investigators determined that the child was handling the gun when it fired. Authorities declared the man dead at the scene.
The man's name was not released.
Six days earlier, there was another fatal shooting in that same neighborhood. Police say Jerome Taylor, 50, was shot after he went outside his apartment complex to investigate gunfire. Police say he died at a hospital.
